Call for Nominations: Doctoral Consortium, The 31st International Conference on Information Systems, St. Louis
In advance of the 31st International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), the Doctoral Consortium will be held at the Sheraton West Chalet from the evening of December 8 through the morning of December 11th. The Doctoral Consortium provides doctoral students working on their dissertation research an opportunity to share and develop their research ideas, explore issues related to academic and research careers in the Information Systems field, and build relationships with other IS PhD students from around the world.
The co-chairs of the consortium are Professors Vallabh Sambamurthy (Michigan State University) and Bernard Tan (National University of Singapore). In addition, ten outstanding faculty representing the global community of information systems academics will be available as mentors. Their names are listed on the website for the doctoral consortium (http://icis2010.aisnet.org/doctoral_consortium.htm).
Participation in the Consortium is by invitation only. Each university may submit only one nominee. Each student selected for the Consortium is expected to attend all Consortium meetings and activities, from the opening on Wednesday evening to the closing at noon on Saturday. Candidates who are not able to make this commitment to the Consortium should not apply.
Ph.D. students currently working on Information Systems dissertations are eligible for nomination submission. Candidates should successfully defend their dissertation/thesis proposals before the end of November 2010, although they need not have defended their proposals before the submission deadline.
Students who will have defended their dissertations by the end of November 2010 will not be accepted. Nominated candidates should intend to pursue an academic career in Information Systems following the completion of their Ph.D. studies.
Prospective candidates and their schools/departments are encouraged to submit nominations for selection to the doctoral consortium. Details of the submission and review process are described on the conference website in the space dedicated to the doctoral consortium (http://icis2010.aisnet.org/doctoral_consortium.htm).
All of the documents required for the nomination should be submitted through the online submission system (Manuscript Central at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/icis2010) by the nominated doctoral student, not the nominating faculty member. All submissions must be received by the system no later than midnight, U.S. EDT, Monday May 31, 2010.
