                           Call for Papers

BACKGROUND:
The ICOODB 2008 is the First International Conference on Object Databases
and Object Database Management Systems (ODBMS) in this century and it takes
place in Berlin, Germany on March 13 and 14.
It is a unique opportunity for scientists, industry, developers and
students to meet in person and exchange insights on object databases.
This conference addresses people who are interested in object databases,
innovative ways to bring objects and databases together and
alternatives / extensions to relational databases and O/R mappers.

The conference is organized by an independent research committee and
supported by ODBMS.org, ODBMS Vendors, and the TFH-Berlin. The conference
will take place at the University of Applied Sciences TFH-Berlin and will
be opened with several keynotes in the famous Beuth Hall. The event takes place
on Thursday and Friday, so you can use the weekend to enjoy Berlin after the conference.

Object Databases are the right choice for certain types of application. They can
save developers cost and time and help them to build more feature rich
OO applications. In this way they enrich the database space that is
sometimes seen as being entirely filled by relational databases and O/R
mappers. Thus one of the purposes of this conference is to support a better
understanding of where and why to use an ODBMS. In this spirit we would like to
invite you to join this conference, propose a paper or a talk, show a poster
or simply visit or get in touch with us. If you are interested in this
topic in general visit odbms.org and read the expert articles or browse
the free section containing lecture notes, tutorials, articles and more.
