CSMR 2008 Call for Participation
CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
The 12th European Conference on
Software Maintenance and Reengineering
(CSMR)
Developing Evolvable Systems
April 1-4, 2008
Athens, Greece
This is a call for participation to the upcoming *12th European Conference on Software Maintenance and Reengineering (CSMR 2008)*.
CSMR 2008 will be held on April 1-4, 2008 in downtown Athens,Greece, in the Plaka district at the foothill of Acropolis,
an area which is also known as the Old City of Athens. There, the participants will not only enjoy an exciting conference and
social program, but will also have the opportunity to visit and explore one of the most vibrant European cities.
CSMR is supported by the Reengineering Forum and in cooperation with the IEEE Computer Society and the
IEEE Technical Council on Software Engineering (TCSE).
Over the past 11 years, CSMR has been established as one of the premier conferences on the theory and practice of maintenance
and evolution of software systems. CSMR promotes discussion and interaction among researchers and practitioners about the
development of maintainable systems, and the evolution, migration and reengineering of existing ones. Even though CSMR is
branded as a European Conference, in fact it is an International Conference, attracting submissions and participants from all
over the world. This year’s venue is of no exception.
The CSMR 2008 technical program features eight full research paper tracks, two short paper tracks, one industrial experience
paper track, one tool track that includes demonstrations of the latest industrial and research tools, and one doctoral
symposium track where young researchers will present their on-going or recently completed doctoral research.
Areas and topics related to the technical papers, demonstrations and workshops that are planned for CSMR 2008 include tools
and methods for designing and implementing evolvable systems, software architecture evolution, Model Driven and formal
methods to support software evolution and maintenance, experience reports on maintenance and re-engineering of large systems,
software quality and maintainability, evolution of object-oriented frameworks, component based and, network-centric SOA-based
software systems, analysis and re-engineering of multi-language multi-platform systems.
The whole program is enhanced by two keynote presentations, one given by Prof. John Mylopoulos, Fellow Royal Society of
Canada, Division of Applied Sciences and Engineering on “Software Maintenance and Reengineering in the Days of Software
Agents” and the other by Prof. Jürgen Ebert Chair of Software Engineering at the University of Koblenz-Landau on “Meta-Model
Taken Seriously: The TGraph Approach”.
Finally, CSMR 2008 also hosts four International co-located workshops that will be conducted on April 1, 2008.
These list of accepted workshops is:
- Workshop 1 (Full Day Workshop) SOAM 2008 Second International Workshop on SOA-Based Systems Maintenance and Evolution
- Workshop 2 (Full Day Workshop) SQM 2008 Second International Workshop on Software Quality and Maintainability
- Workshop 3 (Half Day Workshop) SASE 2008 First International Workshop on Self-Adaptive Software Engineering
- Workshop 4 (Half Day Workshop) MoDSE2008 Second International Workshop on Model-Driven Software Evolution
