We will hold a Database Symposium as a memorial and tribute to Klaus R.
Dittrich, who passed away last November. With this symposium, we honor a
truly outstanding researcher and wonderful colleague. Klaus R.
Dittrich is
known for many contributions to the database field, in particular his
groundbreaking work on object-oriented databases.
Klaus Dittrich has also contributed a lot in the intersection of
database
technology and software engineering. He was one of the pioneers in the
area of database support for software engineering and throughout his
professional life has been working on the software engineering aspects
of database construction.
