AIMS AND SCOPE
ICMLA'08 aims to bring together researchers and practitioners to present the
latest achievements and innovations in the area of machine learning. The
conference provides a leading international forum for the dissemination of
original research in ML, with emphasis on applications, novel algorithms,
software and systems. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

• learning through fuzzy logic
• case-based reasoning
• reinforcement learning
• machine learning of natural language
• grammatical inference
• knowledge acquisition and learning
• knowledge discovery in databases
• information retrieval and learning
• web navigation and mining
• learning through mobile data mining
• online and incremental learning
• learning through text and multimedia mining
• inductive learning
• machine learning in game playing and problem solving
• machine learning in intelligent virtual environments
• machine learning in homeland security applications
• machine learning in science and engineering
• machine learning in medicine
• machine learning in bioinformatics Contributions describing applications of machine learning techniques to real-world problems, interdisciplinary research involving machine learning, experimental and/or theoretical studies yielding new insights into the design of ML systems, and papers describing development of new analytical frameworks that advance practical learning methods are especially encouraged. The conference will also hold workshops, special sessions, and competition:
