PRELIMINARY CALL FOR EXTENDED ABSTRACT

GRADUATE STUDENT WORKSHOP ON DATABASES MANAGEMENT AND THE WEB

TO BE HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE III ALBERTO MENDELZON WORKSHOP ON FOUNDATIONS OF DATA MANAGEMENT

This workshop intends to bring together PhD and Master Students
working on topics related to Foundations of Databases and the Web. The
workshop will be co-located with the III ALBERTO MENDELZON WORKSHOP ON
FOUNDATIONS OF DATA MANAGEMENT, and it will offer students the
opportunity to present, discuss, and receive feedback on their
research in a constructive and academic atmosphere.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

We solicit extended abstract submissions on foundational aspects of the
following areas of data management (among others):

constraints; data exchange; data integration; data mining; data
modeling; data management on the Web; data streams; data warehouses;
distributed databases; information retrieval; knowledge bases; logic;
query languages; query optimization; real-time data; recovery; scientific
data; security; semi-structured data; spatial data; temporal data;
transactions; updates; views; XML.

Paper submissions must be in electronic form using Portable Document
Format (.pdf). Papers should be formatted according to the Springer
LaTeX2e style llncs for Lecture Notes in Computer Science, which is
available at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html. The length
should not exceed 5 pages written in English. Papers longer than 5 pages risk rejection
without consideration of their merits.

The papers should have the following sections: (a) Abstract. (b) Introduction, where you should explain why the project is relevant, a summary of the state of the art, a summary of the results presented in the paper. (c) Preliminaries. (d) Results. (e) Conclusions and Related Work. (f) References.
